New MTR Technology for better evidence destruction (NTFS)

This project is a simple technology for reformatting MTR and setting sector 0 (or drive 0) as a read-only (RO) volume.

This project demonstrates that you can put a traditional NTFS volume into read-only state, while keeping the data intact, and allowing full access to the drive to all programs.

When the volume is mounted, some Registry entries are added, and the system asks for RO permission in the course of normal operations. However, data files are not affected, and you can access them normally.

Most NTFS file systems still work with this technology, and the update is completely reversible using standard tools, since it only sets RO volume flag and doesn’t alter the contents of the volume.

The most significant feature is that you are able to reformat any drive and its data as RO in an instant, by rebooting the system after mounting the drive.

Some screenshots are provided to demonstrate how the new technology works. You can also download the screenshot images and an alternative display application.

The application includes a small boot CD that can be run on any Windows 2000/XP system, or on any OS with similar functionality. Once installed, all that is left to do is to reboot to the system into read-only state. The technology works in both static mode and dynamic mode. Static mode means that the RO is permanently set. Dynamic mode allows you to restore RO in a few seconds, when system reboots.

This project requires a Windows 2000/XP Professional or higher. All functions are implemented in pure Windows API, and they do not depend on any third-party development kits.
The code was written in C++ using STL. The compilation can be run using MinGW.

The application doesn’t need installation, but since it doesn’t do anything except modifying the NTFS structure, you can

After trying many many programs I finally found the best dvd authoring software on the market, and it was a program called DVD Decrypter. We have made many video clips and dvd remasters from scratch using this program with no problems. The software is a bargain as well, and will make your computer experience the best video experience ever. I have tried many others but this one did all for me. When you use DVD Decrypter and encode a DVD into the most popular video format for DVD playback which is VOB, you will have a decently good video DVD with great sound. Here are some helpful links on this subject matter you may be interested in.

For anyone wondering, the program “DVD Rip” converts an ISO file to an AVI file.

What’s New in the?

DISCInfo is a small-sized and portable application that displays hardware information on IDE/SCSI devices. It is quite simple to work with, since the program does not include complex settings.

Since installation is not a requirement, you can drop the executable file somewhere on the hard drive and click it to run.

An alternative is to move DISCInfo to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any machine seamlessly.

An important factor to take into account is that the Windows Registry does not get new entries, and files are not left behind on the HDD after removing the utility.

The interface is made from a small, regular window with a simple layout, where all you have to do is select the IDE/SCSI device from a drop-down menu to view the firmware version, vendor specific data, read and write speed, along with extra information, such as current region set and drive region status.

Furthermore, you can display a summary and copy all details to the Clipboard, check out firmware updates and capabilities information, as well as save the CD/DVD data to file for further scrutiny.

The application has a minimal impact on computer performance, using a small amount of CPU and RAM. It has a good refresh rate and doesn’t cause the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, DISCInfo has not been updated for a long time, and it is not supported by newer operating systems.
